(Un)Finished House: The Monument

On 6th of July at 15h, at Bauhaus Eins, the project by Saša Tatić, (Un)Finished House: The Monument, will be presented and discussed as a part of Master Thesis Defense from the MFA Program Public Art and New Artistic Strategies, Bauhaus University Weimar.

The artistic research is based on the phenomenon of unfinished houses from the territory of former Yugoslavia. The self-built houses in which people live despite leaving them in an unfinished condition for decades reflect life conditions from this area but as well an unbeatable desire for progress and hope for better future.

The concept of proclaiming family house, a representative object of locally unified appearance for a state monument, makes the phenomenon officially recognized as an adopted constructional manner unintentionally constituted by adapting to given conditions.

On 16th of June, an application has been sent to the Commission to Preserve National Monuments with a suggestion to proclaim my family house as a monument.
